GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION

The Port of Mati is a terminal of the Port of Davao locked in the province of Davao Oriental which is known for its rich agricultural produce, mineral deposits and marine resources.

Mati is settled along the coast of Pujada Bay on the southern part of Mindanao and approximately between latitude 6° 57' N and longitude 120° 13' E.

NAVIGATIONAL APPROACH

There are three known access routes of the Mati Wharf: Davao Oriental, Pacific Ocean and the Pujada Bay itself.

ENTRANCE CHANNEL

The Mati terminal port of entry is through the Pujuda Bay which is bounded in the north by the Mayo River and down towards the south by Cape de San Agustin. The bay is too deep to afford anchorage in the mid-section but there are certain parts of the smaller coves which offer good holding ground for such.

ANCHORAGE

Vessels may anchor 125 meters off the pier end in 25 to 30 meters depth, mud bottom.
