The Port of Payao is located at the eastern coast of Sibuguey Bay and and within the vicinity of the eastern coast of Taba Bay, in the province of Zamboanga Sibuguey. The Port of Payao is linked by a feeder gravel rough surface road about 22.0 kilometers from the National Highway in Imelda Town. Most often, the wharf located at Poblacion Payao is utilized by vessels coming from Zamboanga city via Talusan, Mabuhay and Alicia.
NAVIGATIONAL APPROACH
The Port of Payao is accessible passing through the Sibuguey Bay from the Moro Gulf.
ENTRANCE CHANNEL
From Sibuguey Bay, vessel proceeds to Palan Point and turns around the coral reef and proceeds to the port of Payao.
ACHORAGE
There is no anchorage area designated at the port.

SHIPPING COMPANIES AND NAME OF VESSELS
No big vessels regularly service the route from the port of Payao except fishing boats and motorized bancas which are individually owned by residents and or small time traders coming to the municipality.

The sea routes for the Port of Payao are Alicia, Subanipa, Talusan and Sagasa.
SCHEDULES
Arrival and departure schedules of the vessel, fishing boats and motor bancas are irregular and would depend on the weather (fishing activities) and needs of the owners for their activities.
